Jürgen hat Chen-Hanson Ting so lange bearbeitet, bis dieser seinen Klassiker davor gerettet hat auf nimmer wiedersehen in der Altpapiertonne zu verschwinden. Digitalisiert gibt es das Buch also nun wieder, auch bei Amazon als eBook.

In der Vergangenheit gab es immer die Wettbewerbe, wo die Forth-Leute gewonnen haben auf der Embedded. Als ich letztes Jahr vom Soundshirt in Hamburg gehört habe, dachte ich, dass dies eine gute Sache ist und vielen Gehörlosen auf der Welt helfen könnte. Aber 20 000 Euro für ein Soundshirt ist unbezahlbar!

Also wie wärs: 16 Handy-Vibrationsmotoren (andere Effektoren?), etwa 30 Euro auf ebay; einige MSP430G2553 oder ähnliches, ein bisschen FFT, Treibertransistoren, ein Bluetoothmodul um die Daten zu übertragen...

Wil Baden once told his children that when he died, we should have a party.
So, with Mom's permission, we are doing just that. We are going to have some of his favorite snacks, and sing songs from the Dr. Seuss and Tom Lehrer songbooks. He sang us peculiar lullabies when we were small, accompanied us on piano from time to time, introduced us to the Doctor Demento show, and performed duets with Mom on occasion.
We expect to have newspaper swordfights, and play some "Halloween Games," and talk about some of our favorite memories of growing up.

noforth und FRAM
noforth für die Texas Instruments MSP-EXP430FR5739 Experimenter Boards mit 16kB FRAM und deren MSP-EXP430FR5969 Experimenter Board mit 64kB FRAM gibt es schon. Laufen per Terminal mit der Baud Rate von 38k4. Ob auch das 16MHz MSP430FR5994 device mit seinen 256KB FRAM bald unterstützt wird? Bin gespannt...

Mark 1 FORTH Computer
In 2003 hat Andrew Holme seinen Mark 1 fertig gestellt. Das gute Stück wurde komplett in TTL-Logik aufgebaut, und beherbergt ein FIG-Forth. Ein Oldtimer sozusagen neu gebaut - HCMOS, 1 MHz Clock, 8-Bit Data Bus, 16-Bit Address Bus.
Und inzwischen hat er Anhänger gefunden. Aaron Tang, ein Student der Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Malaysia, hat den Mark 1 FORTH Computer nachgebaut, und einer seiner Studienkollegen, Aidil Jazmi, hat den Magic-1 geclont. http://www.aidilj.com/homemadecpu/
Aaron benutzte auch Eurocards, aber statt pen-wiring hat er wire-wrap-Technik verwendet. "... well done to both Aaron and Aidil."
